Nighttime Cleansing Routine – Step 3

I’m going to pop in step 2A first. After cleansing, we should really tone. A skin toner helps to remove any remaining traces of make-up or cleanser and also helps to balance and refresh the skin. I must admit, I’m guilty of being a part-time toner. When I do include this quick and easy step, I love using the Neal’s Yard Remedies Rehydrating Rose Toner. This is a beautifully scented, rehydrating toner that will leave your skin feeling its best!

The final step, #3, is moisturising. Most of the year I use the Neal’s Yard Remedies Rehydrating Rose Daily Moisture. This is a lightweight lotion that is quickly absorbed into the skin. It also has a gentle rose smell, not that cloying artificial rose fragrance so many people think of when they hear rose. As an essential oil, rose is a very grounding oil, and it’s amazing for the skin – helping to reduce redness and the appearance of broken capillaries, while being very soothing and is a great option for those with sensitive skin.

In the colder months when the heating is on and moisture is being pulled from the air, I will reach for another Neal’s Yard Remedies product, their Frankincense Hydrating Cream. A cream base gives this product a richer, more moisture rich consistency and is fantastic for rehydrating skin. Frankincense essential oil is another incredible skin oil and can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

In addition to products, nutrition plays an important role in improving and maintaining skin health and good condition. Water, water, water is your friend! We should strive to drink one to three litres of water a day! This makes a big, positive difference.
